Bible Reading Plan for Holy Week | Grieving Mothers

Holy Week Bible Reading Plan for Grieving Mothers | The Morning: A community of hope for women finding joy after miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss.Holy week is the week before Easter and offers an opportunity to spend time specifically thinking about the beauty and gift that is Easter. For us, as women who are grieving, we have even more reason to dwell on the hope of Easter. We have experienced loss and tasted death, but because of Jesus’ death, burial & resurrection we grieve with hope.

"

Jesus said to her,"I am the resurrection and the life.He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live."John 11:25

Easter is more than eggs and cute bunnies and pretty dresses, Easter means we have been given access to God, freedom from sin and shame and guilt; we have been given redemption, rescue, righteousness and eternal life. Because of Easter we do not have to fear death or be overcome by it. We grieve, but we grieve with hope—we know this world, this life is not the end.I created a simple 5 Day Bible Reading Plan that is meant to prompt our hearts to think about the hope we have because of the sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf. Simply download the reading plan on your phone, tablet or computer. Over the next five days, simply read the day's text. Ask yourself the question prompts. Journal your response. And pray. In all the ways you feel afraid or angry or hurt or confused by God, tell Him. Ask Him to heal your heart. Ask Him for the faith to trust Him, to believe the words you’re reading. God’s Word brings life (Psalm 19:7) to weary souls and praying to God even when it hurts is the best medicine you can give to an aching heart.Holy Week Bible Reading Plan for Grieving Mothers | The Morning: A community of hope for women finding joy after miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss.
