Gift Ideas for Mother's Day for Grieving Women | Miscarriage, Stillbirth, Infant Loss |

I’m on a mission to help hurting women feel loved this Mother’s Day.

Would you join me in helping to make this painful day a little less difficult for someone you love this year?

Mother’s Day can be incredibly painful for so many women. For women who have faced the long journey of infertility, longing to be mothers. For women who have walked through miscarriage and are unsure if they are allowed to even call themselves a mother. For women who have living children but are daily reminded of the baby that is missing from the cute family photo.

So how do you love your friend well on a day that feels so hard?

Remind her that you see her, that you remember her, that you are praying for her.

And it doesn’t actually matter how you go about doing that, because it’s not about a perfect gift or perfect words or elaborate plans; it’s that you thought of her. That you remembered. Amidst a day that might be one of celebrating for you, you took the time to think of her, “to mourn with those who mourn.”

There is an abundance of ways you can remind a hurting mother that she is loved on Mother’s Day from a simple text or phone call to a card or a girls night out. The best advice about how to love your friend well is to ask the question, what would be meaningful to her?

So, while gifts aren’t the most important thing or even the only way to go about loving a hurting woman on Mother’s Day, sometimes they help. And if your friend loves gifts I’ve got the perfect thing for you.

We have featured many gift guides here on The Morning and even have a curated Gift Shop to make gift giving to a grieving mother as simple and meaningful as possible. As I was thinking through what might be most meaningful to a hurting woman specifically on Mother’s Day I kept coming back to gifts that comfort that body and the soul. So I pulled together a very simple but complete Spa & Comfort Gift Guide. Gifts that sooth a weary body and provide a moment to mentally relax and unwind. You could give a single item from this guide and pair it with one of our Mother’s Day Cards or you could buy a few items from the list and add them to a basket for a beautiful and complete Spa Gift Basket.

All the items are from Target (because what woman does not love Target) making them super simple to source. You can even click through a few of your favorite items, add them to your cart and do order pick-up, making the entire process so easy.

  1. Hello Gorgeous Mug
  2. Harney & Sons Green Tea with Coconut
  3. Dark Chocolate (Caramel Sea Salt) (Almonds Sea Salt)
